Our board members serve to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of The OATECA Transition Center, so as to support the organization’s mission and needs. |

BOARD MEMBERS
PRESIDENT - Steven WilsonSteven has worked with students with special needs since 2014 at Mustang High School. He has served as an individual one-on-one for students and helped with students' individual testing accommodations.
Steven was one of the founding members of the Mustang Public Schools Foundation. He realized a need for support and an avenue for raising money for the classroom teacher's creative projects. Steven's passion is for students and their success in the classroom. Prior to working for Mustang High School, Steven was a local business owner for 24 years. Steven served on the Mustang City Council for seven years. Steven and his wife, Karen, moved to Mustang in 1984. |
VICE PRESIDENT - Meg CornMeg Corn is the Assistant Director of Special Education for Mustang Public Schools. Meg has been in Special Education for 39 years. Meg's first teaching position was at Amarillo State Center teaching special needs students. During that time she was asked to start a Functional Skills class at one of the elementary schools. Meg moved to Florida after teaching special education for several years .
Meg taught at a private school for special needs students in Duval, Florida During this time she also opened a toy store in Ormond Beach, Florida with a friend. They had the toy store for 8 years. They decided to sell the store and Meg moved back to Oklahoma City to help with her aging father. Meg took a job with Norman Public Schools as the severe emotional disturbance teacher. Her students ranged from 6th grade to high school. After teaching the SED program for many years she took the functional skills teaching position at Norman High School.. Meg decided to apply with Mustang Public School as the functional skills teacher. Meg taught the functional skills class until she decided to retire. Meg was also over the district cheer/pom program at both districts During her retirement she worked for Special Olympics as the Development Director. Meg has been a key volunteer for the Special Olympics since 1972. She has been blessed to travel the world coaching swimming and track and field at many USA and World games. After several years of retirement she decided to come back to Mustang as Assistant Director of Special Education. |
SECRETARY - Aspen MarshallAspen Marshall is wife of 22 years and a stay-at-home mother of three beautiful children. Her oldest son was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome at 11 months old as well as Autism at the age of 16; leaving Aspen with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the world of special needs.
Before devoting her time to be a stay-at-home mother, Aspen was an executive assistant for the President of Clovis Community College for 12 years and for the CEO of Roosevelt General Hospital for 3 years. |
MEMBER-AT-LARGE - Janet WilsonJanet Wilson is a mom to a wonderful adult daughter with unique needs. Alyssa has a very rare disease called Phelan McDermid Syndrome. She also has Autism and several other health challenges.
Alyssa has set Janet's path in life. She is a Senior Program Coordinator at Sooner SUCCESS, helping families navigate resources, provide communities with inclusive collaborations, and advocate at all levels. She's also the Oklahoma Ambassador for Rare Disease through NORD. In addition, Janet is the OK family support representative for the Phelan McDermid Syndrome Foundation where she also holds the Advocacy Chair position. She has been a Special Olympics coach for 26 years. She live on a farm with her husband Rusty, Alyssa, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 axolotls, and 19 goats. Her adult son Mitchell lives in MWC and visits regularly. |
TREASURER - Kristal MillerKristal is a Certified Public Accountant in Lawton, Oklahoma.

FOUNDING MEMBERSTiffany Massie and Sheryl Hazelbaker are owners of OATECA, Inc. and have a combined experience in education for over 60 years. They have the privilege of teaching students with special needs and now working with teachers to continue nurturing individuals with all levels of disabilities, especially those of severe disabilities.
The OATECA Transition Center birth out of their passion to continue empowering individuals with severe disabilities beyond the functional classrooms. |
