Begin matching 5 letters (A-E) (letters listed in objective 1).
Finding Level of Performance
If the learner is UNABLE to independently match A-E, this skill will be scored a “0” and the educator can move to AS 26.
If the learner is ABLE to complete objective 1, the educator will proceed to find the level of performance for the learner (objective 2 and onwards).

If the learner is unable to independently copy all 26 letters of the alphabet, drop to objective 1.

If the learner is unable to independently name all 26 letters of the alphabet, drop to objective 1.

If the learner is UNABLE to independently produce 5 phoneme sounds (objective 1), this skill will be scored a “0” and the educator can move to AS 29.
If the learner is ABLE to complete objective 1, the educator will proceed to find the level of performance for the learner (objective 2 and onwards).
This skill is considered mastered if the learner is able to independently PRODUCE THE PHONEME SOUNDS of all 26 letters of the alphabet.
