From Emergent to Conventional Writer

The Writing Add-On aims to help individuals with severe disabilities meet writing standards of the alternate assessment. It guides educators in:

• Identifying performing levels (i.e. 14 levels from emergent to conventional writer) of their students.
• Assessing progress of functional writing skills with visual prompts and writing activities.
• Executing up to 12 functional writing skills activities filled with ready-made manipulatives.
