Differentiated Instruction/Universal Design For Learning Training: This training is NOT just for Special Education teachers, but the General Education teacher as well! In the day of inclusion, we need to know how to provide meaningful instruction to EVERY student in our classroom. This training will teach you how to know your students, through the use of a 'learning profile', and then train you how to bring meaningful effective instruction to your classroom through the use of UDL so that every student learns to their maximum ability.
Embedded Classroom Consult: One of the comments we always hear at our workshops is "You don't know MY students. These strategies will not work in my classroom, with my students." OATECA staff will demonstrate the use of our OATECA curriculum with your students. Our staff can teach your students for half a day or a full day. The teacher and classroom TAs/Paras must 'stay and play' with OATECA staff for this training.
Boardmaker v6 Software Training: Boardmaker is a very flexible, yet powerful tool used to create print symbol-based material. At this training, you will learn how to make the most of this program to create curriculum supports applicable for many learners. This software enables universal designed curriculum in just minutes.
Boardmaker Plus Software Training: In this training, you will learn how to use the special interactive features of the Boardmaker Plus software to create dynamic activities to enhance access to the curriculum for ALL students in your classroom. Boardmaker Plus is a great avenue to group instruction and can encourage participation while using a classroom Smartboard.
Functional Skills Curriculum Training: Is your classroom full of students on different skill and academic levels? What you need is this training. This training will have you ready to implement an easy to use program that is full of meaningful skills and tiered activities for varying levels of students. The meaningful skills tiered tubs program helps an educator provide a structured learning environment, offer a consistent routine for students, provide tiered hands-on activities with visual easy to follow step-by-step instructions, encourage independent meaningful skill development and breaks down activities into small, doable chunks, similar to applied behavioral analysis (ABA) and TEACCH methods.
Paraprofessional Training: This training specializes in teaching paras, assistants, and teachers how to collectively function in a special education classroom as a unified team. You will walk away with tools that will help everyone in the classroom to be ready to offer daily effective instruction. You will learn to see your own, as well as those you work with, strengths and abilities that you all bring to the classroom team.
Assistive Technology for Behavior Training: This training specializes in assistive technology as it applies to behavior.
